Feel free to ask me questions about the game and I will answer them to the best of my knowledge.
Factions
Law Enforcement Department (LED)This faction is part of the Global Dominion (GD) government. It is basically the police and in charged to keep law and order on GD owned colonies. Their unique weapons includes Tasers, and non-lethal weapons which uses rubber bullets. They are usually allowed to use lethal weapons on dangerous criminals or criminal organizations. They wear blue outfits.
Freedom Defence Corps (FDC)This faction is part of the GD government. Also known as the Hammer of the Dominion for their uncompromising zeal to restore law and order when the LED fail to do their job. They have the same access to non-lethal weapons but most of the time they are armed to kill. They are the military force of the GD and they have the power to enforce martial law on a colony. Joining this faction requires strong discipline. They wear lighter shade of green outfits.
Brotherhood of Shadows (BoS)This is one of the clan faction. They have the ability to produce drugs and their main rival is the GD forces. They are always wanted for arrest by the LED and are hunted down by the FDC. They are governed by a Council of Shadows have authority over the BoS. They wear black and red outfits.
Guardians of Mankind (GoM)If there are elves in this game, it would be the GoM. Like BoS, they are a clan faction and can produce drugs. They are a peace loving faction however and they truly hate the corporation factions for their greed of money and colonies. They hate all factions that doesn't like peace actually but are known to compromise and forge alliance with other faction (even corporations) to fight a common enemy. Unlike BoS, they are tolerated by the GD forces. GoM wear white outfits, sometimes ornate armor, and is the most easily recognisable faction in the game.
Mercenaries of the Blood (MotB/Mercs)Unlike other factions, MotB is a clan that have no real governing body. They are split into cells which works independantly. Each cell is led by one leader, usually a master assassin. The ones not in a cell are known as the Freelancers. On rare occasions, the cells and freelancers would band together as a faction to destroy a common enemy. They are most dangerous when united and even the GD can't fend them off.
The mercs functions by offering contracts to kill to other factions. So sometimes you can see cells fighting each other to fulfill their contract made by opposing factions. Usually a corporation would hire them to take down the other corporation faction(s). Hiring Freelancers are cheaper since you only hire one individual, but not many of them can get the job done. So sometimes freelancers form a small temporary group to fulfill a contract and split the pay among each other.
The mercs wear mixed outfit, a cell would have their own uniform that is diffrent from other cells. Freelancers usually wear civilian outfit that doesn't match with the cells. MotB armor are violet in colour.
Vortex Incorporated (VI)This faction history is forged by players and sadly it is currently not a faction that is friendly to new players as they are more of an elitist group of people. A few people like me are trying to change that on CB4 by trying to win the election to grab the CEO title. So if you truly want to make a change in the game, this is the faction for you but you have to be online early in the game to catch up with the election.
VI is a corporation faction and it is always known as the smallest and less popular faction is the game due to the players that run it. Unlike other corporations, VI have good relations with the GoM, and with some MotB cells and individuals. This may change in the future depending on how diplomacy goes. VI wear green outfits.
Colonization and Mining Guild (CMG)If you want dwarves, this is the faction that is similar to them. Usually this faction is passive to everyone, however they can fight when needed to. I do not know much of this faction so I guess you have to find out yourself what they are about. They wear brown outfits.
Euro Core (EC)EC history have always been the aggressive and war mongering corporation. They are perhaps the most greedy faction in the game due to their leaders who are obsessed in gaining wealth. This makes EC the most popular faction for people to join and because of the high population, they can conquer the universe and the GD forces are unable to stop their rampage. Hopefully we can balance this out with a better system on CB4.
Everyone hates EC due to their past history of backstabbing alliances and their merciless rampage on colony conquest. Many factions were once homeless and left without a colony to call home due to their strong numbers. EC wears grey and silver outfits.
Notes about corporation factions.1. The corporation always have changing history and role play depending on the leaders that run the faction.
2. A corporation's main target is always about gaining wealth by mining, refining them into materials and constructing products for sale. Most of your time will be spent on doing this.
3. Depending on how diplomacy goes, it is easy to play the game as a corporation, but depending on the current situations, you may and may not have the chance to participate in combat.
